How do I schedule my first visit?
To schedule an initial evaluation appointment at our San Francisco location, you can call our Client Service Specialists at 415.561.6655 or [email protected]. How do I schedule follow-up visits?
Once you are an established patient, you can schedule follow-up visits at the front desk, through online scheduling, text, call or email.
How far in advance should I schedule appointments?
We recommend you schedule 2-4 weeks in advance to secure your desired days and times. If you anticipate surgery, contact us prior to surgery so we can get you scheduled. We also find clients stay committed and make better progress when they schedule their recommended frequency and duration from the beginning of the process. We can always modify your appointments based on your progress.
Do I need a doctor’s referral for physical therapy?
California is a direct access state allowing patients to be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist for up to 12 visits or 45 calendar days before needing a referral from a doctor. Some insurance plans may require a referral for Physical Therapist services.
How should I prepare for my first appointment?
Before you come in for your first appointment, make sure to fill out all your New Patient Forms electronically and provide your insurance information and doctor’s referral if you have one. If you prefer to fill out New Patient Forms freehand, please arrive 20 minutes prior to your appointment. Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. For knee injuries, wear shorts. For shoulder or neck injuries, wear a t-shirt or tank top.
How long will my PT appointments be?
For the initial evaluation, please plan on dedicating between 60-90 minutes. For follow-up appointments, allow up to 60 minutes.
Will I work one-on-one with my therapist?
During your initial evaluation, your PT will evaluate your injury and design a treatment plan specific to your needs and then a PT Aide will instruct you in a home exercise program or a modality treatment. Your PT Aide may be working with you and another patient at the same time. We have found this group exercise setting to promote wellness and help clients gain confidence to do their exercise programs independently at home.
Is there parking?
Yes, there is convenient parking with designated handicapped parking in front of both facilities.
How much does physical therapy cost?
Our self-pay rates are $225 for an initial evaluation and $160 for follow-up visits. If you would like to use your insurance, check out our insurance page.
What is your cancelation policy?                                                                    If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please call, text or email with a minimum of 24-hours’ notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 24-hours’ notice will be assessed a fee of $125 for physical therapy initial evaluations, $50 for physical therapy follow-up appointments, and the full price for massages and fitness services.
Your appointment times are reserved especially for you. If you’re running more than 30 minutes late for your initial evaluation or more than 15 minutes late for follow-ups, your physical therapist will no longer have time for your session. This missed appointment will be subject to standard cancelation fees as noted above.
What is a Telehealth visit?
Telehealth sessions are currently available for our established patients. These sessions usually last about 30 minutes and can be scheduled within our regular business hours. The self-pay rate for Telehealth visits is $85. If you have any questions about your insurance coverage for Telehealth, please don’t hesitate to contact our billing team. Please note that both parties need to be in California for a telehealth session.
