Chris Chorak surpasses her role of founder and owner of Presidio Sport & Medicine to understand the needs of her clients as well as her staff. Molding her career to balance her holistic view of life, Chorak builds upon her past experiences to fully thrive in the sports and athletic community, her career and her family.
Drawing from more than 20 years of physical therapy and athletic training experience, Chorak founded Presidio Sport & Medicine in 1997 thriving on the ability to find the path for each client to reach beyond recovery and return them to their pinnacle physical and mental health.
As an endurance athlete, aquatic running specialist and former triathlete, Chorak has completed over 100 triathlons and open water swims, including the prestigious Ironman and Escape from Alcatraz races. She is an active member of the Bay Area Masters Swimming Association and the Dolphin Club. Chorak is a mother of twin boys, and finds balancing work, family and her own well-being a very rewarding challenge. Chorak graduated from Northwestern School of Medicine in 1988 with a degree in Physical Therapy and earned her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Purdue University. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and holds a physical therapy license from the state of California.
Chorak is noted for her active involvement in the community. She co-created The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team-In-Training Triathlon program, provides injury consultation to programs such as TNT and AIDS Marathon, and volunteered at the Hawaii Ironman Medical Tent for years. Reaching a new level in her career, Chorak finds lecturing to the community a rewarding experience. She collaborates with many groups throughout the Bay Area such as Luna Chix, Team LOLA, Fitness Anywhere, Purplepatch Fitness, and Vivo Girls Sports. She regularly lectures on topics of personal interest, such as healthy training tips for runners and triathletes, the importance of cross training, improving run form, success tips for run coaches, and many other topics.
